A & F Sprinklers are specialists of automatic sprinkler systems. Not only do A & F sprinklers design and supply sprinkler systems they also install and maintain automatic sprinkler systems nationwide. Head office is based in Rochdale and supplying to well-known customers like Sainsbury’s, Next and Dunelm Mill, A and F Sprinklers also provide a 24/7 call-out for their customers across the country.

A & F Sprinklers initially went to market to find a software to help deal with the amount of maintenance call-out jobs that the team where undertaking. Julian is the commercial manager at A & F Sprinklers, Julian tells us how A and F Sprinklers where utilising Sage and spreadsheets to collate costs and orders. Not only did this prove a time-consuming process it also made managing the day to day running of jobs hard to track.

The management team at A&F sprinklers looked at various job costing software, including Redsky to eliminate the need for duplicating entries between numerous spreadsheets and Sage 50. Julian told us that JNC was the software of choice because of a familiar interface and usability to Sage 50. Construction Manager and Maintenance Manager both seamlessly integrate with Sage50 and Sage payroll, ensuring there is no duplicating between job costing and the accounting process.

Maintenance Manager is designed to simplify the management of small works and planned or reactive maintenance work. Details of each job are recorded on a job sheet, including additional material which has been used and how much labour has been required for the job. Each job is linked to the contract and is automatically updated and it also displays a job progress that shows sales, cost and profit and loss for all jobs.

A&F Sprinklers have recently implemented the Mobile Manager element to the Maintenance Manager software. The Mobile App enabling A&F Sprinklers to have a real-time update on job status, notify the mobile engineers of new jobs and receive photos and signatures straight from site. Julian informs us of how Construction Manager and Maintenance Manage have streamlined the processes within the company. A & F Sprinklers now have one place to update all the information needed for all the different services they offer and are easily able to report on different aspects of the job.

Using excel was a long process and also we had many call out/ remedial type orders that prompted us to look for a form of software to manage the processes. JNC showed a system that was user friendly, integrated with Sage and didn’t break the bank.
